Franziska Strauss, originally from Cottbus, Germany, started photographing at the age of 15. Around the same time she was dancing and choreographing in various dance ensembles. In her early twenties, when choosing her academic path she was torn between following the path of choreography or photography, but after a photo-internship in Chicago, decided to study photography in Munich. Eventually the dance world pulled her back in when she was in New York interning for music photographer Danny Clinch and Platon. She now continuously works with dancers mostly in Berlin and New York, but also dedicates her time to street photography and portraiture.
