Compagnia Simona Bertozzi – Nexus / Davide Sportelli

Simona Bertozzi, is a choreographer, dancer and performer based in Bologna where she founded Compagnia Simona Bertozzi/Nexus in 2008. Since 2005 she carries on a personal research in movement composition and choreography writing, focusing on body language and bringing together the overwhelming of dance code with conceptual and iconographic references from visual arts, anthropology and philosophy fields. She presents her works in Italy and abroad: Romaeuropa, Biennale Danza Venezia, Aerowaves London, Dance Week Festival Zagreb, Tanec Praha, Correios em Movimento Rio de Janeiro, Masdanza Canary Islands, Intradance Moscow, Fringe Festival Edinburgh.

Davide Sportelli is a performance artist active worldwide as dancer, actor, choreographer, movement and improvisation teacher, dramaturgic and choreographic coach.
After studying music and acting, he gets his dance education at the Venice Biennale Accademia Isoladanza directed by Carolyn Carlson. As a performer he has colaborated with directors and companies such as: Sasha Waltz & Guests, Sosta Palmizi, Giorgio Barberio Corsetti, Caterina Sagna, Ismael Ivo, Micha?el D’Auzon, Amaraoui?Burner Project, Micha Purucker, Cie Twain, William Forsythe for “Human Writes”.
He has shared his didactic research with renowned institutions like: P.A.R.T.S., Ultima Vez, Sasha Waltz & Guests, SMASH Berlin, Korea National University of the Arts, Duncan Centre Praga, Ufer Studios e Tanzfabrik Berlino, Iceland Dance Company Reykjavik, Chunky Move Melbourne, VSMU Slovacchia, Love-IN Toronto, Università Mimar Sinan Istanbul, Scenario Pubblico Catania, Danscentrum SYD, Skånes Dansteater Malmö. Davide has directed dance performances and choreographic installations in Italy, Czech Republic, Slovakia, South Korea, Turkey. Some of his creations have been supported by Summer Studio P.A.R.T.S./ROSAS, Radial System Berlin, Tanec Praha/Teatro Ponec, Elledanse Bratislava.
His choreographic and pedagogic interests move around the relation between verbal and non-verbal languages, the notion of body as a space for vision and as vision of the space, the attempt to make dance become tangible music. He carries out a practice on creative writing.
