Michal Mualem
For her dance education as an artist, teacher and dancer Michal Mualem experienced from ballet to contemporary, from choreographic composition to improvisation and contact to Feldenkrais method. She practised professional gymnastic until the age of 15. From 1994 to 2001 she worked as a dancer in Israel with companies such as “Liat Dror and Nir Ben Gal dance company” and “Noa Dar dance group”, and she collaborated with choregraphers Inbal Pinto, Nir Sheinfeld and Anne Mary Porass.
In this period she also presented “Brown Sugar”, her first work as a choreographer , at the Suzanne Dellal Center di Tel Aviv. Since 2001 she collaborates with the company of Sasha Waltz, and she danced in her latest creations “Korper”, “Nobody”, “InsideOut”, “Impromptus”, “Dido and Aeneas” and she also teaches at the company. During these years she also studied and collaborated with other choreographers such as David Zambrano, Meg Stuart, Benoit Lachambre, Ted Stoffer and Kristie Simpson.
In 2004 she begins her collaboration with Giannalberto De Filippis and combining their different experiences and their different language and movement , they realize together several choreographies and hold numerous workshops in Italy, Germany, Czech Republic and Israel.
In 2008 she started collaborating as a dancer with Roberto Zappalà for the productionof the compagnia zappalà danza "Instrument 2 <la sofferenza del corpo>"
