An intense evening combining music and dance thanks to the collaboration between AME and Scenario Pubblico, a centre of major national interest. For some years now, the two structures have been collaborating in the sphere of young creativity, bringing young dancers and musicians to work together on new productions. The Ensemble Etna Contemporanea was founded in 2022 on the initiative of the AME as an ensemble that follows a path of training, performance and research. The Ensemble is made up of a string trio on which wind and percussion instruments rotate according to the score. The repertoire focuses on the 20th century and contemporary music, with space also given to first performances. After an initial experience under the direction of composer Matteo Manzitti, the ensemble, artistically coordinated by Nello Nicotra, is now under the direction of Riccardo Scilipoti, with whom it presented a monographic programme dedicated to the American composer David Lang in the summer of 2023.

The choreographic material of Muddica#7 is the result of the exploratory work and experimentation of the MoDem PRO dancers on the language and repertoire of choreographer Roberto Zappalà, in a process supervised by MaestroEnrico Musmeci, who has made a final synthesis shared by the participants. Within the different “tableaux” emerge the different characters of the creators and performers in their personal reading of the choreographic materials. MoDem PRO is a master course addressed to already technically trained dancers and to professional dancers who wish to know and/or deepen the MoDem language, and who, after a selection, are considered suitable to develop the language of Compagnia Zappalà Danza and to assimilate its repertoire. The work of the MoDem PRO programme is developed through a clear analysis of the practices and gestural codes typical of the vocabulary of the company, in order to start a concrete path towards the MoDem language, to deepen it and eventually bring it on stage. The programme of MoDem PRO foresees a full immersion in the language of Compagnia Zappalà Danza lasting three months, for 2 modules a year – one in autumn and the other in winter – at the end of which some of the participating dancers are selected to join CZD2 young zappalà danza company. Educational Director and Head of Language MoDem Fernando Roldàn Ferrer
