Indigenation is an exhibition project that wants to contribute to a reflection that questions the landscape of Sicily as an element of a precise geopolitical context, stripped of any cultural atavism. The island as a fundamental hub for the trafficking of raw materials and human beings and for the technological and strategic control of the Mediterranean macro-region. A photographic mapping of the Sicilian landscape and of the areas most interested in the phenomenon: Lampedusa, Portopalo, Vittoria, Mineo, the sea and Africa – opposite, useful suggestions to reflect on the meaning of “citizenship” in the era of globalization. Indigenation is an exhibition conceived as a public place necessary for the acquisition of information and critical knowledge of the present.
